We visited Dubrovnik on a Norwegian Cruise in July 2024. We didn't know what to expect and were completely wowed by it's natural beauty. We did an excursion from the ship, Cruise & Swim in the Elphiti Islands, that was one of the best excursions we've ever experienced.

Our fantastic tour guide, Boris, helped us onto a speed boat and we were whisked away. Our captain played some upbeat music as we sliced through the turquoise water. We had stunning views of the iconic Walls of Dubrovnik from the water. The boat stopped near Betina Cave and we all jumped off the back of the boat for a memorable swim. Back on board, we enjoyed a mimosa as our boat zipped through the Elaphiti islands to Lopud.

Lopud was absolutely perfect with sand beaches and crystal clear picturesque water! We floated and appreciated the beauty surrounding us. The water was very salty so it was easy to float without much effort. We had plenty of time to swim and relax before a delicious seafood risotto lunch at La Villa under a grapevine covered terrace overlooking the water. Then back to our boat for another exciting ride with a fun soundtrack. Everyone on board was grinning and laughing as the speedboat raced and bounced.

Back in town, we didn't walk the walls but we did get to explore the town a little with its narrow limestone walkways, many stairs, baroque buildings, and interesting shops. We had a snack of a cheese filled flaky pastry called burek and purchased a few small souvenirs. Dubrovnik was an incredible destination and we all agreed we would LOVE to return. If we go back, I'd like to walk the 2 km Walls, and check out the Maritime Museum and Cave Bar More near Bellevue Beach.
