We visited Icy Strait Point on a Disney Cruise in July of 2019. Icy Strait Point is locally owned by Huna Totem Corporation and its 1,400 Alaska Native Shareholders.

We started our day with a whale watching tour and were lucky enough to see humpback whales, including a mom with her baby calf! The tour was incredible and educational. They provided real artifacts that the kids could touch, such as baleen from a whale's mouth.

Grandma Mary kayaked as we wandered the salmon cannery area and looked in the shops. We did not ride the mile long zip-line with a 1,330 foot drop. Instead, we had a contest to see who could skip the most rocks. (Dan won with 5 skips!) Caden's souvenir for the day was a replica bear claw. I was happy to have not encountered a live one.
