We visited Ketchikan on a Disney Cruise in July 2019. Ketchikan boasts that it is Alaska's 1st City and the Salmon Capital of the World. We enjoyed the picturesque landscapes and Native Alaskan culture of this city.
We had an incredible excursion on the Alutian Ballad Crab-boat (even more fun if you're a fan of the show Deadliest Catch). We held crabs and saw an octopus and several eagles. The crew was knowledgable and entertaining. We did a memorial tag for Grandpa Jeff, who had passed away that year and would have loved this family trip to Alaska.
We explored downtown and saw the Eagle Statue in Eagle Park, Creek Street, the Salmon Ladder, and gift shops. There weren't any active salmon at the time, but it was still neat to see the ladder and imagine them swimming up it when spawning. We had crablegs for lunch at Annabelle's.
