Route 66 - Part 4: Oklahoma to Texas

Day 6

Oklahoma City and El Rino, Oklahoma

Route 66 Park was worth a stop. Although Sid's was closed for remodeling, El Rino had some interesting sights to see while we were in town. We'll have to get an onion burger another time.

We have seen many huge groups of international tourists. I didn't realize that Route 66 was a bucket list destination for so many people from all over the world!

Clinton, Oklahoma

Every state along the route features at least one Route 66 museum. We visited those in Illinois and Oklahoma. While there is a small entry fee, we found it worthwhile to see the interactive exhibits.

Amarillo, Texas

Whew, into our 5th state already! Cadillac Ranch is an absolute must do. We brought our own can of spray paint but there were plenty of extras that other "artists" were sharing.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Big Texan. We even saw a rattlesnake in the gift shop.

Today, we traveled 295 miles in just over 8 hours to spend the night in Amarillo.
