We visited Zadar on a Norwegian Cruise in July 2024. We did an excursion from the ship - Panoramas & Tastes of Dalmatia. We started on a bus that drove through the countryside to Dubrava to a farm - Banovi Dvori. We had a delicious lunch complete with local products such as olives, smoked ham, fresh cheese, and wine. We met the farm's donkey and saw how they bake under a peka (iron bell). We also saw beautiful olive trees.
Our next stop had gorgeous views of the town of Skradin and the Krka River, Lake Prokljan, and the bridge from Odmoriste Krk. Our guide explained how tourism has impacted the Croatian people in both positive and negative ways. We learned several interesting facts about this area, including Dalmatian dogs originate from this Dalmatia area along the Adriatic coastline. The first neckties and Maglite flashlights also were invented in Croatia.
If we ever get the opportunity to return, we'll have to see the Riva Sea Organ since we ran out of time for it on this trip.
