Our Little Genius

When Caden was 3 years old, both of his grandmas and I took him to Disney World. He was like an adorable little prince. We dressed him in polo shirts and khaki shorts and marveled at his every move. We were all so impressed by how good he was on the flight, how well he ate his vegetables, and how clever he was.

He would hop in and out of his stroller as we explored the World Showcase at EPCOT. He got a Duffy the Bear on a stick that Disney Castmembers would sign for him as we hopped from one country area to the next. We were crossing a small bridge and saw a Baymax character. I asked Caden to guess which country we were in, and he correctly identified Japan.

This just sent the grandmas and I over the edge. He is brilliant! How smart is it that he associated Baymax with the country of Japan? Well above average for a 3 year old!

Wait... where is he? Where did he go?!

While the three of us were planning his application to Harvard, he slid out of his stroller and got his genius little head stuck in the fence on the bridge. We wiggled him out of there quickly and safely and enforced his stroller belt for the remainder of the trip. This story still makes me laugh and I like to retell it anytime my pre-teen gets a little overconfident. :)
