Photo Op Flop

Let me start out by telling you, I don't usually wear hats and I don't usually love getting my photo taken with characters. For our Alaskan cruise I bought a hat to go with my yellow rain coat that, coincidentally, matched Mickey Mouse's cruise attire.

Throughout the cruise, we saw Mickey a few times. I never happened to have my hat with me. It became a running joke that my goal was to get a picture with Mickey, since we were twinning on this cruise. Then the big day came. We were taking photos near the Hubbard Glacier.

We got pictures with all the other characters and were in line to see "the big guy" when Caden got an upset stomach, most likely brought on by ingesting huge quantities of seafood and kiddie cocktails that week. I took him back to the room and tried to explain to a seven-year-old boy why we don't tell strangers in an elevator about our gastrointestinal distress on a cruise ship because it could end us all up in quarantine! Back in the room, Caden felt much better and I got over missing my photo-op with Mickey.

A few days later, on the flight home, I was reviewing our photo package and what do I see but the person LEAST likely to care about having their picture taken with any character - grinning against a perfect backdrop with my matching mouse!
